After more than 35 years in IT — and in cybersecurity since 2003 — I kept seeing the same thing happen to small dental and medical practices around southwest Riverside County.
They’d hire a generalist IT shop that didn’t know the first thing about Dentrix or athenahealth. Or they’d sign with a national help desk that treated a frozen schedule and a waiting room full of patients like any other ticket in the queue. Either way, the practice lost time, lost production, and quietly worried about whether their patient data was actually protected.
I started Simon Says Systems to be the opposite of that.
What “the opposite of that” means
You get me. Not a rotating cast of technicians, not a ticket number — one person who knows your practice, your software, and your setup.
I’m local. I’m based in Menifee, and “local” isn’t a marketing word here. It’s why I can be at your office the same day when something breaks, instead of leaving you on hold.
I take patient data seriously. I handle the HIPAA technical safeguards — encryption, access control, backup, monitoring — and I sign a BAA. That’s table stakes for anyone touching a practice’s systems, and I treat it that way.
I’m honest about scope. I run business-hours, local support — not a pretend 24/7 national footprint. If something isn’t my lane, I’ll tell you and point you to the right partner.
That’s the whole idea. Keep your practice running, keep your data protected, and be the kind of IT person you can actually get on the phone.
If that sounds like what your practice has been missing, let’s talk.
